Course overview
The RISA-3D Advanced Topics Course is a 5-hour, interactive training focused on developing a more in-depth knowledge in RISA-3D, with individual sessions used to broaden engineers skills and understanding of 3D modeling, design and problem solving. Example models and learning objectives will be targeted to specific features, while mixing in useful tips and tricks that can lead to elevated efficiency when using RISA-3D. This course, spread out over 2-days (with optional, office hour sessions) is geared toward users who have completed the RISA-3D Quick Start Course or have at least a basic knowledge of the software and are interested in learning more about RISA-3D, with a goal of becoming more efficient and confident in their designs.

Meet the instructor
Jon Oberempt, PE
Jon graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, and then worked as a consulting engineer in the Los Angeles area. Prior to joining RISA, Jon specialized in projects including custom residential homes, low-income housing projects, and occasional commercial facilities. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of California.
Meet the instructor
Tim Baraton, PE
Tim graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Utah State University. After graduating, Tim worked as a consulting engineer for 7 years designing heavy industrial steel structures, rooftop facilities for telecom industries, commercial CMU buildings, and timber building retrofits. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Utah.
